Lung Association of Saskatchewan - Pneumonia | Preventative Vaccination

The National Advisory Committee on Immunization (NACI) as well as the Centers For Disease Control (CDC) recommend pneumococcal vaccination for almost everyone 65 years of age and older, not just those people at increased risk. Your physician can discuss with you if vaccination is appropriate.

Pregnant or nursing women should not be vaccinated with the pneumococcal vaccine
Children under 2 years of age should not be vaccinated with the pneumococcal vaccine
Routine revaccination of adults is not recommended, except under certain circumstances

Your physician can advise you if you should be vaccinated.
